Character

Sephiroth is the iconic antagonist of “Final Fantasy VII,” deriving from a deeply complex character whose story further develops with tragic and epic overtones. He was created by Square Enix as part of the elite SOLDIER group under the Shinra Electric Power Company. Sephiroth is basically characterized for having superhuman abilities due to being infused, during his fetal stages, with cells of the extraterrestrial entity Jenova. Such association does have a deep impact on his identity and performance in the series.

Sephiroth spirals into darkness upon finding his origin entwined with Jenova, whom he mistakenly believed to be his mother. He had found out that this was the case and therefore turned against humanity, believing himself the natural heir of this planet, cleansing it of human corruption. This is a strong presence he holds within the story, having great swordsmanship with Masamune and his iconic single black wing to symbolize his fall from grace and into the “One-Winged Angel.”
